I’ve got to admit, this was not our first time to visit Mulconry’s – and it most definitely will not be our last. We discovered this Irish pub years ago and have appreciated it ever since. Damien and his crew have mastered the art of combining fantastic food, rousing entertainment and a lovely staff which together mean it’s place that you can enjoy either a fun family dinner or an extra-fun night out.
Now, let’s talk about favorites The menu is filled with traditional pub fare – burgers, wings, sandwiches, salads and the like and they’re all very good but added to that and changing every once in a while is their Specials menu. Have you ever heard of Boxty? Yeah, me neither. Until the other day.
Boxty is a traditional Irish potato pancake of sorts. When you look it up on the internet most recipes just mention the potatoes it’s made with. Mulconry’s, however, kicks it up several notches and adds lots of deliciousness to the lightness of the pancake and the result is craving-worthy. Take the most recent Boxty of the Day – “smoked Italian sausage, caramelized onions, mushrooms and sweet red peppers in a light creamed Jameson demi – all inside a fluffy pancake. Oh. My Goodness. We’ll be right back. We hear a Boxty calling our name!
